Now, we are grown a little more, have more responsibilities, and maybe might not get to spend a whole bunch of time together.  As I look back, I can only hope that my children can pull great memories out of these times, and I hope that they can smile as and get misty-eyed as I do.

I love you two, Patrick and Shannon; and I love the people that we have brought into the folds of our lives…Sandra, Levi, and Arizona.  I can’t wait to see where the future takes us!

Oct 26, 17 Fort Jackson, S.C. – Today is the day that @PatrickTrumpfheller graduates Army Basic Training.  A culmination of 10 weeks of Army education and training led to this fantastic occasion.  @Sheri Trumpfheller (Pat’s Mom) flew in from Colorado Springs, and the rest of the party came from North Carolina.

Patrick, Levi, and AZ will be heading to Fort Gordon, GA for Advanced Infantry Training (AIT) for 27 weeks, and then it will be up to the Army to determine where he goes.

Arizona Rose getting ready to go watch Patrick get prepared for graduation.  Today is Family Day, first time we get to see Patrick in 10 weeks.  I am so proud of my Soldier, Patrick!!!

Tonight Sandra, Levi, AZ, and I are spending the evening down at Ft Jackson, waiting to see Patrick for family day tomorrow.  We ran to the commissary, post exchange, and now grabbing some dinner at the food court.  Excited to see Patrick tomorrow!!

Private Patrick Trumpfheller completes Army Basic Training on Thursday, October 26th, 2017 at Fort Jackson, Columbia, South Carolina.  Sandra and I are heading down to join Levi (his wife) and Arizona (his daughter) for Family Day and to watch him march for graduation, an honor that I am blessed to be involved in.

As parents go, we live the highs and the lows with our children, and this is one of many highs that I see coming in Patrick’s future!!  I am not sure how many years he will be staying in for (even though it’s the USA), I am proud of him, and will always be impressed with the man that he has become.

After Basic Training Graduation, Patrick will be heading to Georgia for Advanced Individual Training for Nodal Network Systems Operator-Maintainer (25N) .  We are not sure where he will be heading after AIT; more to follow!!
