Water Rescue Training with Westarea FD and Fayetteville FD Rescue 1

Thursday evening was a great training scenario where Westarea Fire Department and Fayetteville Fire Department worked together in a water rescue event. Rescue 1 personnel discussed proper equipment and usage, and then the 2 companies went into action mode.

Another Afternoon with WVFD

On the way home my pager went off for a small outside fire, that was in between work and home. So I headed that way

WVFD responds to a small outside fire.

to see if I can offer any assistance. The fire was confined to an area about 200’x100′, and about 600 gallons of water was used. The only loss of property was an small, unused well pump house. It appears the fire was started from the remnants of a burn barrel used the previous day.

It’s Snowing!! January 17th, 6pm.

The snow finally arrived!! We were waiting for about a day and a half for this snow to come; the weathermen just beat this snow storm over and over. “Inga” i think it’s name was, and it wasn’t at all as spectacular here as they threatened it to be…. it started around 4 or 5 in the afternoon, but really didn’t accumulate until later in the

The only bad thing that happened to us is that the well lost pressure; didn’t freeze, just that the pump could not maintain pressure. So I have a call into the Home Warranty Company, and they are sending out a plumber tomorrow.

So just a few days ago it was 8 degrees and snow…..now its 65 degrees and rain!! I think mother nature is drunk!!

Another Foggy Drive to Work!!

4 Dec – I had another foggy drive to work this morning!! Nothing keeps you on your toes than seeing just a couple hundred feet in front of you, the pictures actually do not do the fog justice! We had a call for an accident this morning, but I did not make it. I figure the fog was a major player in the cause of the accident.
