Sandra was in a Jurored show, Big Fun Art at Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Arts Center, in Dowell Maryland.  She had 2 pieces of art in the show!!  We went to the reception and met a couple other artists, and Sandra got to see other works of art, and maybe even got an idea or two for future projects!!

Sandra and  I were supposed to spend 2 nights in Southern Maryland, but Priceline messed up our reservations, plus the hotel we were staying in really wasn’t of the caliber that you would expect from that chain.  So we went to Solomon’s Island and had a good lunch on the water at The Pier.

Afterwards, I wanted to take some pictures of the surrounding area, but it was a dreary, cold day.  

Soon after lunch, it started to sleet and we decided since this is a Holiday Weekend, we would just drive north until we hit the snow!!  We drove through Washington, and traffic sucked….LOL, re-enforcing my desires to never have to work or live there.

We ended up driving north to Frederick Maryland, grabbed a hotel room and went to grab dinner.  We checked out a couple places, but finally sat down at a bar/grill that had live music.  I tried the Fish and Chips, and Sandra got a Kid’s Fish Sandwich (we believe it was blackened catfish).  We listened to the music a little and then headed back to the hotel.

We are currently determining our route home, and whether or not we are in a great hurry to get there…LOL……

Well, if you have been following me, you know that my back has been giving me issues for a couple months now.  In October I started having some leg pain, and numbness in my left foot.  I ended

going to the Emergency Room a couple times and finally got a MRI done on my back.  Then I went to a Spine Specialist at Duke University who scheduled me for the Epidural Steroid Injection for the 17th of  January.  However, that was the day that Snow Storm Inga traveled through our area.  Duke University Hospital Clinics were closed that day, as well as the day afterwards.  On Friday, I finally got a hold of the clinic and rescheduled my procedure for the 31st.

I have a Herniated Discs, and spinal stenosis.  The doctor wants to use steroid injections at the spot of the stenosis to alleviate swelling and hopefully bring some relief before looking into surgery.

the worse part about all this waiting, is that the pain has not subsided.  I have shooting pain in my left knee, up through the thigh and a steady pain from the center of my lower back over to the left side.  The pain is always a good 5 on the pain scale, and if I do something wrong….like bend over, turn, or even stand or sit awkwardly, the pain will go to a sold 8.

I said earlier that I would write about it, and offer some thoughts and guidance to anyone that might have been considering this procedure.  As we get closer to the procedure, and perhaps get the procedure done, I will continue to write!

The snow finally arrived!!  We were waiting for about a day and a half for this snow to come; the weathermen just beat this snow storm over and over.  “Inga” i think it’s name was, and it wasn’t at all as spectacular here as they threatened it to be…. it started around 4 or 5 in the afternoon, but really didn’t accumulate until later in the

evening.

The only bad thing that happened to us is that the well lost pressure; didn’t freeze, just that the pump could not maintain pressure.  So I have a call into the Home Warranty Company, and they are sending out a plumber tomorrow.
